After the long Hari Raya weekend, all too soon it is back to work! Really, I wouldn't mind another extra day or two. Sigh.....And it's back to blogging after the short but very sweet break.

There were some questions as to what happened to the potatoes that I dug out when I made potato skins. These people are a curious lot aren't they? Of course I did not throw the potato flesh away as that would have been a waste of perfectly good food.
I made them into Bergedil using Sonia's recipe as a guide.

Picking up momentum from the recent Bake Along - Chiffon Cakes, I baked another one last weekend. The motivation? To clear up some pantry items. I find that I over stock on baking supplies (too optimistic) and at times my ingredients expired before I could use them. Case in point, half a bag of Horlicks that hardened to stone. Haiz...

I have always been curious about Chicken Adobo ever since I came across the recipe in Amy Beh's Culinary Conundrums in The Star. A reader wrote to request for the recipe. Apparently this lady tasted Chicken Adobo at a party and fell in love with it. I cut out the recipe and that newspaper cutting is still neatly filed away in my folder hah..hah...

Please excuse me for repeating this Zebra Cake for the third time. If you remember, my first cake didn't quite turn out while my second cake had a very wet bottom. I am so fed up with removable bottom or springform pans. I mean, they are fine if you don't need to bake your cake in a water bath. As they say, necessity is the mother of invention. Drum rolls please as I unveil my cake-hoisting device. Please don't laugh, ah....

The only thing right about my Pizza Potato Skins is the potato skins itself. All the other ingredients were all wrong. I did not have pizza sauce, no mozzarella cheese and the Italian sausages tasted weird. But I wanted Pizza Potato Skins. Badly.

Last Saturday I took things easy. No complicated baking. No egg separation, no stiff peaks, soft peaks and what nots. I wasn't really in the mood to bake. Having just recovered from food poisoning, I was still weak and my digestion wasn't very good. And it was terribly hot. But I still had to have my baking fix and I settled on something unbelievably simple.

Yesterday, I was home sick. I had a really bad case of food poisoning. The day before, I started having mild nausea. I had attended a two day seminar prior to that and I went crazy with the desserts. hah..hah...I ate 4 slices of chocolate mousse cake. And oh, a slice of blueberry pie too. Naughty, eh?
